Introduction

At Otterium, privacy is at the core of everything we build. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you visit otterium.com. We are committed to transparency and respect for your rights.

Data Controller

The data controller for otterium.com is Allan Paccot, operating under the Otterium brand. For any questions about how your data is handled, you can reach us at contact@otterium.com.

What We Collect

We only collect personal data that you actively provide to us:

  • Newsletter signup: your email address, processed through Brevo (EU-based email service provider).
  • Contact form: your name, email address, subject, and message, processed through Brevo.

We also collect anonymous analytics data on this website. See the "Analytics" section below for details.

Analytics

This website uses PostHog, an open-source analytics platform hosted in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany), fully GDPR-compliant. Analytics are used solely to understand which pages are visited and to detect JavaScript errors, in order to improve the website.

What is collected

  • Page views and page exits.
  • JavaScript errors.
  • An anonymous identifier stored in localStorage (this is not a cookie).

What is NOT collected

  • No cookies.
  • No personal data (names, emails, IP addresses, geolocation).
  • No click or form tracking (autocapture is disabled).
  • No session recordings.
  • No user profiles for anonymous visitors.

Analytics are active on this website and cannot be disabled individually. All Otterium applications have analytics disabled by default — users can opt in from each app's settings if they wish.

Legal basis: legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) — the data collected is strictly anonymous and does not allow the identification of any individual.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely for the purposes you consented to:

  • Newsletter: to send you updates about Otterium app launches and news. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Contact form: to respond to your inquiry.

Legal Basis

We process your personal data based on your explicit consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You give this consent by checking the consent checkbox on our forms. You can withdraw your consent at any time. For anonymous analytics data, the legal basis is our legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)), as the data collected does not allow the identification of any individual.

Data Sharing

Your data is shared only with the following EU-based service providers: Brevo, for processing newsletter subscriptions and contact form submissions; and PostHog (EU, Frankfurt), for anonymous website analytics. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third party.

Data Retention

We retain your data only for as long as necessary:

  • Newsletter subscribers: your email is stored until you unsubscribe.
  • Contact form submissions: your data is deleted once your inquiry has been resolved.

Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Right to erasure — request deletion of your data.
  • Right to restriction — request that we limit how we process your data.
  • Right to data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Right to object — object to the processing of your data.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@otterium.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you believe your rights have not been respected, you may file a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Cookies & Local Storage

We do not use any cookies. The data stored locally in your browser via localStorage includes your theme preference (dark/light mode) and an anonymous PostHog identifier used for page view analytics. This data is not a cookie, is not used for cross-site tracking, and analytics data is processed in the EU (Frankfurt).

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
